I always wanted to have the flexibility of working from home. Through lots of ups and downs; gains and losses, I finally stumbled upon a real opportunity working from home.
I loved the challenge of transcribing. However, I was used to sitting at my desk with a big transcription tank, transcribing letters and memos. I wasn't really sure how transcribing from home worked or what I would be transcribing. Over the years I have gained a lot of knowledge and insight not only from my colleagues, but from my own due diligence in research and practice.
What we have noticed over the years is that a lot of other individuals have the same frustration. How do I get started doing this transcription thing? Is it lucrative? So we thought to ourselves why not pass along the knowledge and steps to others in hopes of helping them succeed in their dreams of working from home. Enjoy the courses and let us know how we are doing and what we can do to improve your experience with us.
By mid-2011, I was a mom to a toddler and pregnant with my daughter. Jobs weren't actually raining on me. I had already transcribed a couple of DIY shows and thought to myself, "Why not make it a full time job?" I would spend an hour a day, each day looking up companies and applying with them.
In 2012, I started transcribing for one of the companies and about six months later I was offered a position as a proofreader and have been part of their staff ever since. In all these years I've seen all types of people applying as transcribers, some already had experience and some hadn't.
Remote jobs are here to stay and will become even more frequent in the near future, that's why we would love the opportunity to pass on our experience so you can be successful at it too! We hope you enjoy the course as much as we enjoyed creating it!
